Five Valleys Sportive

On Sunday I did the Five Valleys Sportive which started and finished at Margam Country Park near Port Talbot in aid of Prostate Cymru along with 4 others from BMCC. Leading up to the day the weather predictions were not looking good and this probably had an impact on the turnout as to be honest it was a bit disappointing. However this was their loss as the weather was perfect for the ride. The route included the two major climbs of Bwlch and Rhigos, Bwlch in particular was a spectacular climb up from Price Town, The pictures below are from a lay-by at the top of Rhigos climb, Pen y Fan along with many other notable peaks could be clearly seen. The descent down to Hirwaun was exhilarating and fun. On the return to Port Talbot we went through Neath and another hard climb up Cimla road this was very cruel being so close to the end.
