Elan Valley Trail on Tandems

On Easter Sunday we hired two Tandems and rode the Elan Valley Trail as a family.
We hired one from Clive Powell cycle shop in Rhayader and the otehr form the Elan Valley visitor center. The Elan Valley is a beautiful area to explore and we had a real good laugh as a family on the tandems. I would thoroughly recommend this to any one.

The Trail itself is very safe and family friendly as all of it is off road with only one very slight exception where you cross the road near the end (or beginning depending on which way you are travelling) of Garreg-ddu reservoir to continue on the trail up through the trees. The trail finishes at Craig Goch Dam where there are some public toilets if required. It is worth a little walk up the hill on the opposite side of the dam as this affords some great views. I have to say the ride back to the visitor center was much easier than the ride out, virtually all downhill J
