Before our Hike Bike challenge I went for one final hard bike ride around the Cambrian Mountains this included the climb of the Devils Staircase, it was tough! more on my cycling climbs in an up coming post where I will re count my 'ruddy hard climbs of 2014'.

Start of the Devils Staircase..... ouch!!
We had spent plenty of hours planning and preparing and it was finally here and for me the biggest highlight of 2014 was our Welsh 3 Peaks hike and bike challenge, We walked the Welsh 3 peaks (Snowdon, Cadair Idris & Pen y Fan and cycled in-between them over 2 days)

2014 also saw the Tour de France come to Yorkshire and I was one of the millions that lined the route, here I saw them on Cote de Cray, it was a great experience and a grand day out.

In August we went up to Lincolnshire and we went for a family walk in the Wolds which was very enjoyable indeed, especially as it ended at a pub for lunch.

We then went for another bothy stay this time at Dulyn Bothy in the Carneddau, where we met a group of lads from Macclesfield, had a great evening laughing and joking until about 2am.

The final walk of the year a Moel Hebog round, not great visibility but still a fantsatic walk as they all are. Here's to another great year in 2015!
