Dartmoor - Okehampton to Buckfastleigh

29-30 Aug 2009
A planned 2 day walk across Dartmoor from North (Okehampton) to South (Ivybridge) with my friends Mitch and Ryan. The first day was fine and we made good progress chalking off Yes Tor and High Willhays and via Postbridge en-route to our wildcamp spot just south of Bellever Tor. Unfortunately when we got up in the morning Ryan's ankle has ballooned up and he called it a day and went back to Postbridge to be collected by his wife. On day two the weather was not kind to us and added to that my knee started to ache, an old war wound from my football playing days, so we decided to call it a day on Ryder's Hill and instead of continuing south towards Ivybridge we cut the day short and headed for Buckfastleigh instead via Snowdon, no not the one in Wales there is a hill in Dartmoor called Snowdon topped with cairns and surrounded by old quarries. Mitch's wife Corrine picked us up on the road to Buckfastleigh and we headed for home.
